2nd PROJECT MEETING

LEIRIA, PORTUGAL

19-24 May 2019

The second - and final - transnational project meeting for the HESTIA project took place in Portugal, in the city of Leiria, from the 19th to the 24th of May 2019. 15 representatives from the 6 partner organisations travelled to Leiria to participate in this meeting, which was hosted by the partner school Jardim-Escola João de Deus.

The program included, apart from the working sessions, a welcoming concert by the school choir, a tour and partner presentations in the school, a workshop on laughter yoga. The cultural program included a tour around the picturesque villages Obidos and Nazare with its great beach, medieval and multicultural dances, and even an ultimate frisbee workout!

The hosting school organised a congress titled “Cultures of Hosting and Understanding” that took place at the Instituto Politecnico de Leiria. Our partners from the University of Maastricht, Dr Lisa Andersson and Mr Zachary Strain, gave a talk about migration perceptions and attitudes, and also presented the preliminary results analysis of the HESTIA survey. All partners presented the project work and their school’s experience from the participation in project HESTIA. The project manifest was delivered by the coordinators to Ms Anabela Graça, Councilor for Education and Youth of the Municipality of Leiria.
